Step 1 - Review Credit Reports

The credit repair journey begins with a full review of your credit reports from all three major credit bureaus: Experian, Equifax, and TransUnion. These reports contain your credit history, account information, inquiries, and public records — all of which play a direct role in your credit score.

After you enroll and connect your credit monitoring, our dispute team carefully examines each report to identify any inaccurate, outdated, unverifiable, or misleading information. We go beyond the surface and focus on what’s truly hurting your credit, including:

  • Late payments that were made on time

  • Accounts that don’t belong to you

  • Paid-off collections that are still showing as open

  • Duplicate listings of the same account

  • Old charge-offs and outdated derogatory items

  • Incorrect personal information (misspelled names, wrong addresses, etc.)

This detailed audit is the foundation of our repair process. Once we’ve identified the negative items that can be challenged, we build a custom dispute strategy based on your unique situation and financial goals.

By catching the reporting errors that often go unnoticed, we make sure your credit reports reflect the most accurate, up-to-date version of your financial history — giving you the best possible chance of score improvement and future approvals.

Step 2 - Initial Audit Report

Once we’ve completed our review of your credit reports, we compile a personalized audit report that breaks down all the key findings. This isn’t a generic overview — it’s a customized summary that identifies the specific negative items impacting your credit score, along with explanations of what can be legally disputed or corrected.

Your audit will include:

  • A categorized list of negative accounts, inquiries, and errors found across all three bureaus

  • Notes on which items appear to be inaccurate, outdated, unverifiable, or misreported

  • A summary of how each of these items could be affecting your credit profile

  • Our recommended action plan for each negative account

The goal is to help you understand your credit in clear, simple terms — not financial jargon. This report gives you full visibility into what’s going on with your credit and outlines exactly what we’ll be targeting first as we begin the dispute process.

This step ensures we’re aligned on your goals and that you know what to expect as we begin to take action on your behalf. Transparency, trust, and strategy all start here.

Step 3 - The Dispute Process

After you’ve reviewed your audit and we’ve confirmed which items are eligible for dispute, our team gets to work initiating the dispute process on your behalf. This step is where the real action begins.

We create and send customized dispute letters to each of the major credit bureaus — Experian, Equifax, and TransUnion — and, when appropriate, we also contact your creditors, lenders, or collection agencies directly. Our disputes are crafted based on the findings in your audit report and grounded in consumer protection laws like the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA) and Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA).

What we dispute:

  • Inaccurate account details (wrong balances, dates, or statuses)

  • Derogatory marks like collections or charge-offs that are outdated or unverifiable

  • Late payments that were actually paid on time

  • Duplicate or misreported inquiries

  • Accounts that do not belong to you

We handle all the communication, documentation, and follow-up so you can stay focused on your goals. Our team tracks bureau deadlines, responds to any verification attempts, and escalates disputes when needed.

This is not a “set it and forget it” system — we use proven dispute strategies and adjust our approach based on responses from the bureaus to increase the likelihood of permanent removals and positive score movement.

Step 4 - Credit Repair Portal

Transparency is everything — and with your secure Got Credit? Client Portal, you’ll never be left wondering what’s happening with your file. As soon as disputes are sent, you can log in to view exactly what’s been challenged, when it was submitted, and which credit bureau or creditor received it.

The portal provides:

  • Real-time updates on dispute status and responses

  • A detailed history of all items challenged and resolved

  • Notes from our team explaining next steps

  • Access to upload documents, view progress reports, and communicate with us directly

Your portal is updated consistently so you can track your credit repair journey with full confidence. We believe you should always know where you stand — no guesswork, no delays, and no hidden process.

Whether you're checking in weekly or reviewing your results each month, your portal puts you in control and keeps everything in one place, 24/7.

Step 5 - Credit Investigation Begins

Once the disputes are submitted, the credit bureaus and creditors are legally required to investigate the accounts in question. These investigations typically take 30 to 45 days, during which time the bureaus must verify the accuracy of the information or remove it if it can’t be validated.

While this process is underway, your role is just as important. We strongly recommend enabling autopay on all open accounts — including credit cards, auto loans, and personal loans — to avoid any new late payments or missed due dates. Even one new late payment can harm your credit and slow the progress we’re making.

This is also the perfect time to:

  • Pay down high balances (especially revolving credit like credit cards)

  • Avoid opening new lines of credit

  • Keep your credit utilization low

  • Monitor your email and portal for updates from our team

Maintaining positive credit behavior during the investigation period not only protects your current score but also reinforces the improvements we’re working toward through the dispute process.

By pairing our aggressive dispute strategy with your responsible credit habits, we set you up for faster results and long-term success.

Step 6 - Monthly Credit Updates

Every 30 to 45 days, you’ll receive a detailed update outlining the progress made on your credit repair file. These updates include a breakdown of what we’ve disputed, which items have been removed or corrected, and how your credit profile is improving across all three bureaus.

But it’s not just about looking back — we also look ahead. With each update, we’ll let you know:

  • Which new negative items (if any) have been added to your reports

  • What accounts are still in dispute or pending investigation

  • What you can do on your end to support faster results (like lowering utilization or adding positive tradelines)

Our team continuously analyzes your credit reports and responses from the bureaus to adjust our dispute strategy as needed. If an item comes back verified but we believe it’s still inaccurate or incomplete, we escalate the dispute with new documentation and pressure the bureaus to fully comply with federal laws.

These monthly updates keep you fully informed, engaged, and confident that progress is being made — because credit repair isn’t just about deleting items, it’s about building a stronger financial future step by step.
